I took the week off to work on the yard, thinking that maybe that would stop the neighbors from putting up the "for Sale" signs in my yard. So far I have done about 1/2 of the sprinkler system in the area that we are planning for grass. What a mess, and a lot more work than I remembered. Today Sharon didn't feel up to going in to work, so she called in sick. The day was overcast and freezing (low 60s), so I decided that if the sun wasn't going to come out, neither would I. We actually turned the furnace on today, can you believe it? I'll probably start getting letters about the dirt piles left in the yard if the sun doesn't come out tomorrow.

We got a nice email from Natalie, sounds like they're getting ready to move to Honolulu, that ought to rank near the top in culture shock - leaving Kauai and all. They traveled to Honolulu for her birthday and while they were gone some new neighbors moved in. The new neighbor's sound, smell and smoke pollution is taking paradise out of their world.

It looks like our next trip to the Islands might be to Hawaii at the end of June, unless we decide to trade it again this year. If we keep it, anyone who wants to join is invited, but nearly everyone will have already been there once again by then. Daryl and Julie go this winter and the Stanleys will stop on the way back from Japan next summer. Perhaps the Zado's and Helen?

If I had known 25 years ago how much world traveling Mike and Sue can afford to do, maybe I would have gone ahead and taken a teaching job - nah, not a chance.

I guess it's time to run-
