Letter
to Margaret - April 21, 2002
Caught up 4-21-02 was enclosed.
Hi Margaret,
I certainly have fallen behind, if I have kept track accurately I owe you about two letters. It seems that I don’t write to anyone as much as I should. What little writing that I do has been in the form of email which I spam out to several members of the family. I have enclosed the most recent effort. Let me know if you guys ever get set up on email so I can include you on my list of victims.
Most of my efforts at writing have been directed toward keeping up the web-site. It has become an uncompromising mistress – demanding so much of my time that the yard has totally gone to seed. The weeds rule!
I enjoyed your most recent letter and I really wish I could find a way to make it to Grover this summer – but it just can’t be worked in. I have committed all of my vacation time to the fossil dig and the second grandson’s first birthday. We are only able to sneak up to Boulder for weekend trips in conjunction with holidays or by taking compensatory time off – only a day or so at a time. Those trip really are crazy – we spend almost as much in the car driving to and from Boulder as we spend in Boulder – but as new grandparents it is an easy sacrifice for us to make – perhaps when we are “ol’ hands” at the grand parenting game we will be less willing to travel under such strenuous conditions.
I have to chuckle every time that I read about a B&B in Grover. Grover is really not a town that I would ever think of as a destination. I can’t imagine the B&Bs are often full. Anyway, have a great time at the reunion and say Hi to anyone there who still remembers me. Take pictures and send them when you get a chance.
Love
