Caught up - April 21, 2002

 Hi to everyone,

Well we finally have posted the rest of the pictures to the family site from our trip to Colorado earlier this month.  For some reason the pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have liked nor did we seem to take as many family pictures as usual.  So we had to post most of what was taken - my apologies for the unflattering shots and for totally missing shots of Justin and Pablo.  In addition, I have posted two more "treks" (Arches National Park and Painted Rocks petroglyphs) on the Western treks site.

I'm caught up at last!!!  But not for long - next weekend the neighbor across the street and I will travel up to lake Powell so I will get some pictures of Rainbow natural bridge - he fishes and likes to get out but hasn't been able to recently - the big bonus is that he owns a boat!  After that there are several petroglyph sites that I plan on visiting, including one called "newspaper rock" in southern Utah.  Now that I have discovered the Utah Canyon lands, I think I will try to make a few weekend trips up to the southern end of our neighboring state.

With our planned trip to Kartchner Caverns with B and Margo, the trip to Wyoming for fossil digging and another trip to Boulder for Ethan's first birthday, my summer and fall are looking fully booked up.  My cousin Margaret sent us a letter inviting us to attend a family gathering of distant relatives in Grover, CO.  It has been a long time since I have been to Grover and the gathering is timed to coincide with the rodeo so I would love to be able to go, unfortunately it just isn't in the cards for this year.

Our computer problems continue - Sharon's new computer seems to behave itself most of the time, but it periodically hick-ups - very unsettling.  My computer decides not to play with me at all about a third of the time.  Or, it will play it's own game by booting up, showing all of the drives loaded in-place but refusing to open any of them (except the hard-drive) - the thing is driving me mad and that has become a very short trip!  This morning the thing refused to even boot up, so I gave up and went to breakfast.  When I returned, I found that the thing had peacefully started for Sharon and everything was working nicely for her.  Just what I need, another conspiracy in my life, a diabolical computer toying with my fleeting sanity.

On a more positive note, I think I'm being pampered; Sharon's cooking all of my favorite foods.  It must be a culinary reward for having delivered her to Colorado so she could play her grandmotherly role.  Whatever, as long as the burritos keep coming I won't mention that I was getting antsy to go and probably would have made the trip with or without her participation.  Now I hear that Natalie and Mori might be in Colorado at the end of May - do I feel another quick trip rising on the warm winds of incipient insanity? (I'll do anything for burros or lasagna!)

And with that, I will close but not before asking, “How is everyone?” - I'm expecting a long and detailed reply from Susan!

Love from the harried and frazzled in Phoenix,
 Rog and Sharon
