August '00 - We spent another
week at our time share in Waikoloa on the
Big Island |
 |
Every Year we are given a time share near this tree -
something that is appreciated by Sharon more than by me. |
 |
We seem to always be there when the tree is in bloom. |

This happy trio is setting at the Rainbow falls near Hilo. |
 |
We got this group photo thanks to the new tripod - a gift
from Mori. |

Mori and Natalie looking for something in Lava Tree State
Park |
 |
Some of the flowers in the Lava Tree State Park. |
 |
Our happy group is standing beside one of the mounds
formed when a fast flowing lava surrounds the wet 'Ohi'a trees and then as the sticky
lava recedes a coating of lava is left around the dying tree. |
 |
Our last day is spent looping the island in order to
explore some of the things we had missed before. We wanted to see the
multi-tiered Umauma Falls. |
 |
The falls are located on private property which is being
converted into a Botanical Garden by the current owner. |

A late snack in Kona, as we wait for our flight home. |
