In a rain forest you expect rain - we had enjoyed our first trip to Akaka falls, so we took Mori and Natalie a couple of days later but the weather didn't cooperate. |

Eventually I would end up hating the camera, but still, it produced one of my all-time favorite pictures. |

Thurston Lava Tube - it was very dark so we were amazed that we could get any pictures in there at all. |

Once again, we got to the lava fields without any flashlights - I was determined to walk over near the flow anyway - I think I was within about a mile when I took this shot - Mori, having borrowed a flashlight started looking for me just before I returned - that does not constitute a rescue either! |
