In 1292, Guzmán el Bueno defended the Castle in
Tarifa from the Moors, who held and threatened to kill his son.
Refusing to surrender, Guzmán reportedly threw down his own dagger and said "Here, use
this", which they did. |

We passed this edifice as we entered the center
of Marbella - it is the most notable structure we saw. The center of
town does not convey that it is a premier destination for the rich and
famous. We did walk awhile along the Paseo Marítimo beside the
beach and dined on the beach. If there, the rich and famous must be
well hidden on the outskirts of the town. |
