The legend says as long as the Barbary Apes
remain on the Rock, the British will rule the Rock. A new generation
to perpetuate the legend. They are fed twice daily, yet they steal ice cream,
cameras and purses whenever they can. |

The Great Siege Tunnel - 54 kilometers of
tunnel carved out in 1779 - 82 for gun emplacements - rubble from the
construction was thrown between the Rock and Spain, creating a Peninsula
