From the junction of Highways 89A and 179, drive 3,1 miles west on highway 89A to Dry Creek Road. Turn North and drive 2 miles to Forest Rd 152. Turn right on 152 and drive 1.3 miles to the parking lot on the East side of the road. The marked trailhead is at the West end of the parking area. |
In the span of less than one day, you can take three short hikes to three totally different features with one trip up Dry Creek Road, which is a rough, washboard dirt road. In dry weather the road is passable for all cars but it can be a very rough trip.
Another member of our Dry Creek Trilogy, Devil's Bridge is a nice hike to a somewhat disappointing geographic feature. The Bridge is fractured and it is probably inadvisable to walk out on it. The Trail forks as you approach the base of the cliff, with the left fork leading to a viewing area below the bridge and the right fork leading to the top of the bridge. Stay to the right and follow the trail up to the top. From this point the trail is fairly steep, climbing natural rock steps, and the going is of moderate difficulty but should be possible for all who take their time.
Return to the parking area by retracing the trail.
